Atlantis Resources is building the world's first multi-megawatt tidal stream project in the UK. It is not widely appreciated that tidal turbines have already produced in excess of 10 gigawatts hours of grid power over the past few years and the space has significant government support. We consider Atlantis a frontrunner in the industry having secured the feed-in-tariff, consent, grid connection and funding which only leaves the construction phase before it. With scope to expand the project up to 398MW, the MeyGen project off the coast of Scotland is shaping up to be a historic moment in the development of renewable, emission free power generation.
