I've just been on the phone with the Head of Insto Research at a top Aussie broker who gave me his view on the upcoming earnings season and on China's credit problem. He says most of the companies who were going to miss guidance have already come out and told the market, so it should be smoother sailing from here. On China (he spent a number of years working up there and knows his stuff) he suggests that it's so difficult to know what's really going on up there that it's almost unanalysable (yes it's a word, I looked it up). So we should all spend less time thinking about the big unknown's and just focus on what can quantify/understand.
