The Fidelity Global Emerging Markets Fund was started in 2013. Since inception, the fund has outperformed the benchmark, delivering 9.59% p.a. (net) to investors.

Behind the fund's performance, has been the support by our global research team of 140 equity analysts and 400 investment professionals worldwide and our prudence in allocating capital. We avoid areas of risk we're not comfortable with - namely, poor corporate governance and companies with an inferior balance sheet. And instead, focus on areas that can add value, such as understanding business drivers, reinvestment returns and compounding over time.

In the Fund in Focus below, I share our investing process, the difference corporate governance can make to shareholder returns through two company examples and our outlook for Emerging Markets.
