Nine reasons why coal is struggling (and will continue to do so). The price of coal has fallen 51% since peaking in 2011. We believe the oversupply in the seaborne trade of thermal coal faces many negative secular factors on top of some normal cyclical ones. Importantly, we are wondering if we are at the beginning of India and China turning away from coal. The developed and developing world is fundamentally changing the way it regulates and consumes coal which is a warning shot at king coal. (VIEW LINK)
