What caught our attention this month was China committed to a national carbon market by 2016 and that India seems to be following China by turning away from coal. We are seeing greater bipartisan support for the US shale oil and gas industry as both sides see the enormous economic and political dividends it will provide. The EU is gearing up to finalise its 2030 energy policy targets which still appear to reflect moderation from an uncompromising green agenda. Japan continues to push hard on its pro solar and nuclear agenda.
