Deloitte 2015 IPO Market Update - 3 reasons to keep an eye on new floats
Based on recent trends the ASX is about to hit a peak period of IPO activity over the next 6 months. Based on data compiled by Deloitte there are a few reasons to suggest it is worth keeping abreast of the new companies coming to market. 1) Average returns have outperformed the market. Companies that listed in 1H14 achieved average returns of 7.3% and those that listed 1H15 have returned 19.1%. 2) Maintaining momentum: The top 10 IPOs of 2014 have kicked on in 2015. The average performance of all companies that listed in 2014 during the first half of 2015 was 12.7%. 3) IPOs holding up in volatile times: Of the 48 listings in 2015, 21 had a market capitalisation in excess of $75m, generating an average share price performance gain of 7.2%.
