We are intrigued by the recent price action in LNG Ltd (LNG:ASX)
We are intrigued by the recent price action in LNG Ltd (LNG:ASX). LNG is a promoter of mid-scale liquid-natural-gas (LNG) projects, originally in Australia. The focus has now moved to the USA where they are promoting a similar LNG facility in Louisiana. This move has attracted attention and the stock is on a tear. Is the share price strength sustainable? We don't think so and note: 1) LNG Ltd has no earnings; 2) No track record of project delivery; 3) If mid-scale LNG is commercial and LNG Ltd's technology is superior, why aren't the majors using it? 4) Why did the Chinese just sell out the bulk of their holding in LNG Ltd and resign their board-seat? 5) What happens when the 15% of the stock that was placed at 55c comes out of escrow on the 18th of June? Disclaimer: Totus have positions in LNG.
