Emerging Markets Provide Tasty Opportunities. Emerging Markets had a challenging year last year as the US Federal Reserve commenced tapering and bond yields rallied in the USA, putting pressure on Emerging Markets. As stocks were sold off in these markets, we spent a great deal of time screening for undervalued companies and found particular value within Food Groups, providing some tasty opportunities. In India, we bought Tata Global Beverages which produces coffee, tea, nutrient water and other 'good for you' beverages. The company exports the Tetley's tea brand internationally and also has a joint venture with Starbucks. The business has a suite of high quality, recognisable brands and is trading at a significant discount to our valuation.
