FIVE THINGS INVESTORS NEED TO KNOW FROM LAST NIGHT'S BUDGET Last night's budget is not a bullish document. As noted in our The Climate Blog, there were five key points for investors: 1. Telstra will benefit from NBN expenditures increasing. 2. Inflation is forecast to peak at 3.25% this financial year, but then decline. But the Medicare co-payment and fuel excise indexation will actually increase inflation. 3. The resources outlook is sanguine with the iron ore price falling back to $90 by mid-2016. 4. Economic is growth sluggish. Most concerning are the economic forecasts with GDP growth in 2014/15 slowing from 4 per cent to 3 per cent, and unemployment rising to 6.25 per cent. 5.
