For some the recent Fairfax result was a turning point for the business, but was it enough for long term investors to clime aboard? Elio D'Amato, CEO of Lincoln Indicators, says the financial health of a company is not the only consideration but in his view it is the most important. Based on the recent result for Fairfax D'Amato says the business is now moving in to investment grade territory. The underlying strength of a company's financial position and subsequent ability to withstand unforeseen shocks is critical for investors. So for D'Amato the Fairfax result is a step in the right direction, however, he says he needs to see a pattern of good results before this stock starts making its way into portfolios. D'Amato's preferred sectors right now are telecommunications and healthcare. He gives his preferred stocks from these sectors in this short video.
