Market Update: The Australian share market rose slightly higher on a quiet day of trading. The S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.2% to 5,457 points, led by resources stocks. STO was up 1.6% to $14.25 and RIO climbed 1.2% to $65.35. Weakness from technology and financial stocks held the market back today. Among the big four banks, WBC and NAB were the worst performers - down 0.8% and 0.3% respectively. Carsales.com gained 13.2% following Thursday's announcement of acquiring a major stake in South Korea's number one online car website. The AUD is trading at a three month high at USD 0.9089 following RBA Governor's speech today and yesterday's better than expected economic data. The SPI was up 0.4% at 5,460 points on the Sydney Futures Exchange.
