Market update: The S&P/ASX 200 was 0.4% higher at 5,369 points despite the fact US and European equity markets finished in the red overnight
Market update: The S&P/ASX 200 was 0.4% higher at 5,369 points despite the fact US and European equity markets finished in the red overnight. Resources were mixed with BHP up 0.5% and RIO adding 0.1%. Gold miners fell as spot gold slid a further 1.0% last night. Regis Resources down 3.3%. Financials were higher with all the major banks rising between 0.6% to 1.0%. The AUD continued to climb and is currently trading at USD 0.9276. The SPI was up 0.4% at 5,365 points on the Sydney Futures Exchange.
