Overnight Update: The US stock market rallied Monday following upbeat economic data and a reaction from Western governments to the vote in Crimea that was limited to visa bans and asset freezes. Treasuries continued to fall, pushing up yields. The euro rose against the dollar as investors appeared to shrug off a downward revision in the region's inflation rate. Gold futures settled lower, putting an end to a five-session streak of gains. Oil prices closed lower on Monday, giving back most of the gains they scored over the past two trading sessions. The UK's FTSE 100 index broke a six-day losing streak on Monday. Europe's benchmark stock index posted its biggest gain in almost two weeks. London: BHP up 1.23% Rio up 1.24%. New York: BHP up 1.40% Rio up 1.32% Base metals on the LME traded mixed.
