Overnight Update: The US stock market traded higher on Friday posting the best weekly gains this year as investors weighed better than expected consumer sentiment report against weak industrial production data. Treasury prices traded lower Friday after mixed data on industrial production and consumer sentiment. Chinese inflation data boosted the Aussie and the euro advanced amid a report showing the euro-zone economic recovery picked up speed. Gold futures traded solidly above $1,300. Oil futures turned south, struggling for direction amid worries over the economic outlook. Most UK stocks advanced on Friday after data showed a surprise improvement in the construction sector and as better than expected growth figures from the euro zone sparked wider optimism across European financial markets. London: BHP up 0.94% Rio up 0.53%. New York: BHP up 1.02% Rio up 0.89% Base metal prices traded higher across the complex.
