Overnight Update: US stocks shook off early morning gloom and rose after a report from the Philadelphia Fed showed a rebound in manufacturing in March following harsh winter weather. Treasury prices fell. The US dollar extended gains against the euro but edged down against the yen. A day after Fed's Yellen threw the market a three-word curveball, sellers were in control - sending prices for gold and silver futures down for a fourth-consecutive session to their lowest settlement levels of the month so far. Oil futures closed lower. Most UK stocks fell, with oil firms and drug makers leading the decline. Stocks in Europe notched small gains. London: BHP up 0.82% Rio up 0.40%. New York: BHP up 0.32% Rio up 1.48%. Base metals on the LME traded lower across the complex.
