Sebastian Evans, CIO of NAOS Asset Management, recently visited a number of property businesses in SE QLD. The primary focus of the trip was to look at the operations of Sunland Group, on a tour led by Moelis. Evans says that Sunland have possibly bought land better than others in SE QLD, but he was hardly jumping out of his seat with enthusiasm. He says QLD looks steady but NOT sexy. His preferred play for housing in QLD is a small company called Tamawood. The Company uses 3D printers and computer modelling to offer new home plans for developers. The technology removes the need for display homes and for drafters which are clear cost saving and efficiency. Evans says, there are anecdotal reports of strong demand during November-December 2013. The founder retains a sizeable position the company and dividend guidance for FY14 was reaffirmed at the AGM. AGM release: (VIEW LINK)
