SHIELD - Sustainable High Yield | Protection against falling interest rates | The recent RBA move has made equities the preferred risk/return option for investors wanting more than 3% return in a rising cost and falling interest rate environment. We expect global investors to return to Australian high equity dividend yield when the currency gets down to low 70s. The recent global interest in Aussie equities is mainly driven by short covering after the RBA's sudden move to get asset values higher. We see short term profit taking risk in the market after hitting post GFC high valuation level (i.e. 5800) with reporting season risks and potential end of global investor short covering. SHIELD Top 20 picks are: large cap - CBA, WBC, ANZ, NAB, and TLS; mid cap - PPT and FLT; small cap - NST, IMF, WEB, DSH, KMD, RCR, PTM and SGN; and micro cap - HFA, FRI, NCK, DDR and VLW.
