The essentials of essential infrastructure stocks
If there was one thing we learnt during the federal election campaign this year it was how much was being spent – and promised to be spent - on infrastructure projects. The sector has boomed over the past few years and when we sat down with Jonathan Reyes, Co-head of Global Listed Infrastructure at Ausbil Investment Management, we were interested to find out how the make-up of the sector has changed over time.
Gone are the days when the offerings were limited to utilities and airports. Today, infrastructure investors can invest in assets such as toll roads, mobile towers and long-haul pipelines. In this short video, Jonathan explains the attributes that define an essential infrastructure stock in a sector that is now bigger globally than the ASX200.
