On a recent visit to China John Lake stepped into an elevator in Shanghai looked down and noticed he was sharing a ride with a delivery robot. It was like a scene out of Star Wars. According to Lake the adoption of robotics and consumer focussed technology like electric vehicles is gaining traction at an incredible rate. China is also becoming adept at securing assets and investing offshore and then bringing this IP back home.

"I actually hadn't realised it until this trip but a Chinese company just bought one of the largest robotics firms in Germany. They are incredibly open about what their strategy is."
