Which asset class will outperform in 2015

Which asset class will outperform in 2015? Nearly 51% of respondents in the recent Livewire survey expect international equities to be the best performing asset class in 2015. This view was expressed equally among both professional and retail investors. Frank Casarotti from Magellan Financial says he has observed a steady increase in the level of interest towards international investments over the past few years. However, with SMSF's still only holding 1% of their assets in global investments Paul Moore from PM Capital says that it is action not sentiment that will deliver returns. Retail investors often jump on something after it has done well and everyone's talking about it. It's too late then. On the flip side is when everyone is uncomfortable, and that's usually a pretty good time to start investing. The Australian Financial Review has produced an article on this subject including some of the results from the recent Livewire survey.
