Australia's GDP data for the March Quarter will be released tomorrow at 11:30am. Consensus expectations are for a fall in year-on-year to 2.7%, while quarter-on-quarter data is expected to remain flat at 0.6%. “The Australian economy’s running at something like a 3% annual pace. We think that we’ve probably held on broadly to that sort of growth in the March quarter. Probably get annual growth sitting around 2.6%, which is still quite stellar when you compare it with other advanced economies” said Craig James from Commsec. “In early 2016, the recent and brief period of above-trend performance most likely gave way to a more moderate pace. We expect real GDP growth of 0.6% for the quarter,” said Westpac's Elliot Clarke. Westpac currency strategist, Sean Callow, said these results are likely to have little impact on the Aussie Dollar and it would remain "within familiar ranges."
