A quick look at the spot iron ore (58% grade) price in graphical form over 2014. In USD-terms it has now fallen 50% to $59.33 d/mt, the lowest level since MB records began in 2011 and well off the high of $155.73 struck on September 9, 2011. If any commodity analysts have information on the benchmark grades for major Australian mines it would be great to do a comparison. To make matters easier, given the spot price of the Australian Dollar 58% grade in local-currency terms is currently $69.45.
