An interesting look at the revival of Australian listed aquaculture stocks. AFR TV have produced an interesting piece looking at the current state of the Australian aquaculture industry. After a period of significant challenge it appears that the prospects are loking brighter for popular names such as Tassal and Clean Seas Tuna. In the case of Tassal the company recently delivered a 23% increase in profit - not a bad turn around from a Company that was in the hands of receivers a decade ago. Tassal now derives the majority of its revenue (selling Atlantic Salmon) domestically. It is the dominant provider on supermarket shelves and has successfully leveraged off the supply chain and logistics of retailers Coles and Woolworths. The shift in fortunes for the industry has prompted Huon Aquaculture to consider a listing on the exchange. For more detail you can wath the full report here: (VIEW LINK)
