Aussie at US88.75c. Why? Because US dollar is up on tightening speculation. US dollar index at 4-year high. Actually on June 30 2010 when US dollar index was at these levels, the Aussie was near US85c. US dollar index is up for 10 straight weeks - biggest winning run (apparently) since float in 1973. In other words not an insignificant change! Stronger US dollar puts downward pressure on commodity prices.
