Dr Nouriel Roubini says a number of risks to economic growth have declined over the last year, but the risk for advanced economies remains on the downside. Speaking at Aberdeen Asset Management's Investment Conference in New York, Roubini said risks such as a Eurozone collapse, deflation in the US and Japan and a US budget crisis had abated in the last year. The US maintains stimulus while gradually unwinding loose monetary policies, while other central banks are likely to further ease access to money. Looking forward Dr. Roubini sees 6 key risks to the Global Economy. I'm still of the view that in most advanced economies growth is likely to surprise on the downside. Sources of risk include the trajectory at which the US exits its current monetary policy settings, headwinds for emerging economies (including an end to the resources super cycle) and potential political unrest arising from China.
