Four significant market themes from our recent Canaccord Genuity Annual Global Resources Conference in New York City. 1) A declining oil price and weaker producer currencies versus the US dollar is mitigating some of the negative impact of a lower gold price. 2) There is a negative perception on companies with assets in West Africa although no Ebola cases have been reported in the vicinity of the mines and operations have not been materially impacted to date. 3) For developing projects, we are not necessarily seeing cost reductions but rather cost stabilization. Consultant and contractor quality improving with 'A' teams now available. Some companies are taking more aspects of construction management oversight in-house to reduce costs. 4) Funding exploration - Many have cut exploration budgets while others continue to believe that exploration is the backbone of their company.
