Good Morning, Last night I attended a Venture capital & Start-up function in Melbourne. What was interesting was the caliber of speakers on the panel, which included Adrian Stone, founder of Angel Cube and Jonathan Sacks, Managing Partner of Genesis, a $600M VC fund based in Israel. The panel was asked a number of questions, including when will the Australian government start to focus on technology and what are the 5 criteria you look at when assessing a business... 1. People - what motivates management? what is their track record like? What gets them up on a Monday morning..... 2. Technology - What is so distinct about its technology vs. their competitors? 3. Market - what is the size of the market? Is there growth? Can this company meet the market's needs? 4. Execution - can management and the TEAM actually execute on what they seek to achieve? 5. Scalability - is the business scalable globally? These are all factors that we at PEAK assess when we're in front of CEOs...... The key are the people..... What motivates them? What gets them up at 6am each morning? What drives them ........ ?
