GROWTH CONCERNS RATTLE MARKETS, EVERY SECOND DAY... US initial jobless claims continued to move lower last week with a decline to 287k reported. The reading was fractionally below the 288k pace of the previous corresponding week and expectations for an increase to 295k and left the 4-week series average, the best gauge in my opinion, at 287,750, the lowest level recorded since early February 2006. Adding to the good news there, continuing claims fell to 2.381m, a level last seen in early May 2006... (VIEW LINK)
