Matthew Jinks is at the coalface of the data centre boom taking place in Australia. Jinks is the CEO of a small Victorian-based commercial electrical business called SKS Technologies (ASX:SKS). These days, the business is not so small. In the last three years, the stock has been up approximately four and a half thousand per cent, and today its market value is hovering around $1 billion.

Jinks and his board, which included other family members, decided several years ago to go all-in on the nascent data centre industry. Today, data centres account for 85% of the company's revenue. It took a while, but the US-based hyperscalers eventually identified Australia as an attractive investment destination, and soon enough, the money started to flow. For Jinks, himself a trained electrician, it has been a stunning turnaround.

In this episode of Success and More Interesting Stuff, Jinks shares his views on Australia's data-centre build out and how SKS Technologies is growing to meet demand for the electrical services required to deliver on this booming industry.
