Overview: KISS "Keep it simple stupid" over the next few weeks, there are 3 events unfolding that are likely to dictate equities movements / activity. 3) Australian Dividends - Australian investors are about to receive ~$19bn of dividends just after Easter with the likes of Commonwealth Bank, Telstra and Woolworths paying their half yearly dividend. While this amount is below the $24.7bn of last year it may be supportive of the index as some of it comes back into the market. However, nothing is that easy. Last year the market top was at the end of March NOT early April as investors probably bought ahead of the anticipated influx of dividend buying - i.e. classic "buy on rumour sell on fact”.
