Livewire spent some time with Neil Carter, the small cap specialist at IFM today. We asked how he ranks commodities in 2014. Carter said, Our ranking is Iron Ore, Copper then Nickel. Our three less preferred commodities are oil, gold and coal. On Iron Ore, IFM believes the price could surprise and stay north of $100, which will benefit stocks like BC Iron. Our favored name in Iron Ore is BC Iron. It's been a tremendous stock, going up about 10 times (in the past 5 years). We rate management very, very highly and although it's a relatively short mine life, we think they're going to be able to get a 2-3 year extension from the beneficiation program. Carter also discusses his view on whether BC Iron will likely pursue acquisitions in the coming months. Watch the short video here:
