Market Update: The S&P/ASX 200 climbed 1.0% to 5,440 points on the back of a strong finish in the US equity markets last Friday night. Another buoyant session for the financials as the major banks begin to report this week with ANZ being the first one up tomorrow. All major banks were up between 1.0% to 1.6%. Resources were also higher with BHP and RIO both rising 1.0%. The AUD rebounded above US$0.9600 to be trading at US$0.9610. The SPI was up 0.8% at 5,429 points on the Sydney Futures Exchange.
