PM Capital has just lodged a prospectus for the IPO of the Asian Opportunities Fund. It will be the second LIC to come out of the manager within 6 months following the $170million IPO of the Global Opportunities Fund. Ord Minnett are the lead manager with Morgans, CBA Equities and Taylor Collison joint managers. The deal is set to open on the 23rd of April and is aiming to raise between $50million and $200million. The Fund recently ticked over its 5 year performance mark, delivering 21.2% per annum versus 3% MSCI Asia. Whilst operating off relatively small FUM this performance puts the Fund as the best performing of its peers for the period. The growth focused Fund operates a concentrated portfolio of around 15-35 securities across Asian equity markets (ex-Japan). Livewire spoke with Kevin Bertoli (Portfolio Manager) regarding his approach to investing in Asia. Video here:
