Red Mountain Mining got a 75% share price boost yesterday and as much as 170% today after reporting a high grade result (31.1 g/t gold) from trenching at its Lobo prospect in the Philippines. My 18 October wire identified Red Mountain Mining as having the exploration potential to warrant a portfolio position. On the flip side of the ledger, PortfolioDirect had identified Rubicon Resources as having potential through its Turkish exploration interests. Shortly before Christmas, the company said it would not be taking up an option to continue funding this activity and Rubicon has been dropped from the PortfolioDirect model exploration portfolio.
