Risk: five tactics to protect your investments

Over the past week or so I have increasingly been reading about the fact that we are about to enter a period of seasonal weakness or volatility. It was raised in a note from Richard Coppleson (VIEW LINK) who points out that the usually strong 6 month period in the US that we have just exited was perhaps not as strong as it should have been. The implication being that external forces have capped potential upside. Furthermore, as we enter the historically weak months of May and June (VIEW LINK) there is the chance these negative forces could exacerbate an already seasonally weak period.
