The Pie Growth Fund has recently taken a position via the IPO of Vista Group International (VGI:NZX and VGI:ASX). Vista's core business is providing enterprise software solutions to large cinema circuits (20 screens +). The number of cinemas using Vista's software has tripled in the last five years and it now has 37% global market share (four times that of its nearest competitor). From 1% market share in the US in 2009, it has grown to 37% at present. Importantly, Vista has secured a foothold in the rapidly expanding Asian markets and is the only foreign company licenced to sell software to cinemas in China. Admittedly, the shares aren't 'cheap', but of all the high growth companies listed on the NZX this is one of the few that actually makes money but still has a lot of runway left.
