The value of gender diversity
In November 2015, global index MSCI published a report on gender diversity, which showed that where there is approximately 30% female board participation the return on equity was 36% higher than companies without female significant leadership. Broking and investment group CLSA tested a portfolio of Australian Stocks with more than 25% female participation on the board and the results showed that had you invested only in these companies each year since 2011, your outperformance would be 26% over the five-year period.
