There are currently 13 IPO's looking to push through into the domestic market. Most of these companies are looking to list in the small cap sector. Richard Coppleson (Goldman Sachs) notes that the rush of IPO's in this sector is taking liquidity away from the secondary market. This can be shown by underperformance of the Small Ords (ASX 300 less the ASX 100) vs the ASX 100. The table shows that the Small Caps underperformed the ASX 100 by -0.82% in September, then another - 1.37% in October & at present so far in November are underperforming the ASX100 by -1.26% as small cap managers liquidity is stretched.
