What will Ali Baba be like in 100 years? - I watched with interest the Ali Baba IPO last week, stuck between two minds. Our firm 100 Doors is a wealth management business with a focus on asset allocation and changes in technology. Why two minds? We're generally bullish on high quality technology names but we have equally been in business long enough to know that hype usually proceeds danger. Ali Baba was one of the largest IPOs ever and definitely the largest in the technology space. I'm even more interested in this company because of the impact China has on the Australian economy. I was a skeptic of the IPO and the price spike made me think twice. After further consideration, I haven't changed my mind. (VIEW LINK)
