Breaker Resources has defined shallow mineralisation open to the south and at depth over an area of 2.2km x 1km after a third round of RC drilling. While higher grade vein intersections will attract investor interest, definition of a large shallow oxide gold system will be an important outcome. Orion Gold reported low grade intersections from six drill holes at its Chough prospect in Queensland. The best was 82 metres at 0.106ppm Au. The company had previously described thick zones of alteration with anomalous gold and sulphide minerals potentially related to the upper portions of a mineralising system. These particularly complex geological settings represent difficult exploration challenges. Lucapa Diamond Company is undertaking a ground electromagnetic survey at its L259 hard rock kimberlite prospect in Angola, directly beneath and to the east of its Block 8 alluvial mining. The company previously reported a subtle but distinct gravity anomaly. Interest has risen following the recovery at Block 8 of the largest diamond reported in Angola (404 ct Type IIa). The setting raises the potential for a globally significant hard rock diamond system.
