While you might be able to rest easy with an investment in this fund, be assured that the  managers are not. "Our portfolio is not set and forget," said head of credit and fixed income for Perpetual Investments Michael Korber. "They really are looking for the best opportunity day by day." 

Throughout COVID-19, Korber and his team had to sort through the good, the bad and the ugly in the world of corporate credit to make sure they were focused on high quality issuers. 

"During a major period of crisis, fixed income is the bedrock that allows you to sleep at night through that period. So the very first characteristic that gives to your portfolio in a crisis period is stability. The other key characteristic that it delivers is regular income," he said.
