A sneak preview to what Australia's leading fund managers say are their key ingredients for successful investing. Over the past 3 weeks we have been busy interviewing 13 of Australia's best fund managers trying to understand the disciplines they apply to their investment approach. Without giving away the whole game I have isolated the top 3 themes from the hours of video reviewed. The managers we spoke with include Paradice, Eley Griffiths, Cooper Investors and Regal just to name a few. So across the 13 managers these were the top themes including the number of times each theme was mentioned mentioned. Do the work; there is no substitute for doing your own research in and out of the office (10). Quality Management; Leopards don't change their spots, back people with good track records (9). Be skeptical; A healthy amount of skepticism is a necessity in investors (6).
