ABS report on May motor vehicle sales: Five of the eight states and territories experienced an increase in new motor vehicle sales when comparing May 2013 with April 2013. Tasmania recorded the largest percentage increase (7.0%), followed by the Northern Territory (5.6%) and the Australian Capital Territory (4.4%). Over the same period, sales in South Australia and Victoria decreased by 4.4% and 1.2% respectively. The overall May 2013 seasonally adjusted estimate (93 209) of motor vehicle sales increased by 27 units when compared with April 2013.
