ASX listed Anova Metals Limited (ASX: AWV) has received the final approvals required to allow it to commence development at its Big Springs Gold Project, located in the Carlin District of Nevada, a well proven mining jurisdiction. The Project, which currently has mineable resources of 142,400oz in a total resource base of 1.03Moz, will be a low capex start up by virtue of toll treating ore at the nearby Jerritt Canyon operation. Expected capital requirements are US$2 million for the initial open cut, with cash flow to be used to fund underground development. There is significant potential to expand the resources by both extending known mineralisation and by new discoveries on the highly prospective tenement package. Jerritt Canyon, 20km from Big Springs has produced some 8Moz of gold since 1981, from a total of 11Moz of defined resources.
