As if the situation in the coal sector wasn't bad enough, Whitehaven Coal warns of market oversupply issues within the next 6 months. In its quarterly activities report released yesterday, Whitehaven warns of oversupply within the coal market during the next six months that could further depress coal prices. The reason is that thermal coal exports from the major exporting countries have increased over the first half of 2014, pushing thermal coal prices to the fresh lows experienced over recent weeks.
