Beacon Lighting (BLX) is well positioned. The lighting market is highly fragmented with no other national lighting group- all of their competitors with the exception of Bunnings and Home, are small with only a handful of stores. They were also one of the first retailers to embrace a destination, bulky goods format, which is superior as a mass market offer. This gives Beacon significant advantages as a large group in sourcing product competitively and building a national brand. They have fully integrated their supply chain as well back to China providing a cost advantage over all other players who have to pay distributors.
