Ben Griffiths: Aussie market will hit pre GFC high this year. Ben Griffiths from Eley Griffiths Group is betting on further gains in the Australian market, underpinned by a view that large sums of offshore money are making their way down under. If you ask the guys in the office, they will tell you I have laid down a bet that the Australian market will reach the old high this year... According to my sources there are a number of sizeable offshore investors who have done their work and now think Australia is looking like a pretty good setup. Grifftihs says the combination of the falling dollar and easing of domestic interest rates provide a strong setting for equities. In addition, Griffiths says one of the important elements the domestic market needed was a major bid of some description.
