Not many, particularly in the mainstream financial media, is talking about rising inflation - yet. That is in contrast to what is continuing to stream through our datasets. Our leading indicators for inflation is on the rise in Europe, Germany, Canada and now have bottomed out in the US. It is making us run for the exits in most of our long bond positions in recent weeks as we started taking short positions in Government Bonds. Which are precisely the investments which do not like rising inflation expectations. We are currently only long Gov. Bonds in the UK, where our analysis still shows inflation as benign. Read more...
