Here are a couple of interesting charts ahead of tonights jobs report in the US. The consensus among Wall Street analysts is that the report will show that the US economy added 145,000 new jobs in February. Unemployment is expected to stand at 6.6%. The first chart shows a measure of online help wanted advertisements, this shows strong growth in February and a possible increase in demand for labour. The second chart shows the hiring intentions of small businesses. This shows in January that hiring intentions hit their highest level since September 2007, which indicates that sentiment among entrepreneurs is improving.
