How the hedge was won Yesterday I blogged about how I was protecting our portfolio from the upside risk of markets climbing higher while we are positioned short and bearish. A few hours after publish, the US Fed Minutes came out, markets did surge higher, 1.7% in a move which was the most in a year. I was wrong. This move should have hurt the portfolio given our pessimistic view of the current market environment, but our hedges worked. We finished yesterday up 0.34% for the day, in a very pleasing performance given thematically we were incorrect given our negative view on stocks. Read more... (VIEW LINK)
